This is my fourth self-portrait series. It began with a mistake. I believed I was making a photograph lit only by candlelight with a three-second exposure, when in fact the exposure lasted thirty seconds. That accident opened up an entirely new path. From then on, I began experimenting with long exposures, complete darkness, and one or two candles as my only source of light.

In this series, the nude no longer occupies the central role it held in my previous work. My focus shifts instead to light, its trajectory, and the lines it draws through space. The body remains present, but not as an object of contemplation; rather, it becomes a presence in motion, shaped by the passage of time.

Every photograph was created in the early hours of the morning, while everyone in the house was asleep. The settings are intimate spaces within my home and, once again, the garden—a place where nature, the body, light, and memory come together.

The long exposure transforms time into something visible. Trails of light move across the image, guiding the viewer’s eye and becoming more prominent than the nude itself. Candlelight, traditionally associated with ritual, mysticism, femininity, and the past, envelops the scenes in a warm atmosphere of golden and reddish tones.

When I look at these photographs, I see myself as more mature, freer, and more authentic. There are no carefully planned poses—only intuition, spontaneity, and movement. Through these images, I seek to convey a sense of warmth and human presence, while the luminous lines seem to escape the frame and continue toward infinity.

Timelines is about the passage of time and transformation. Life never stands still; it flows, leaves traces, and continues onward, like those lines of light that cross the darkness and disappear beyond the photograph.
